The fair in cologne was, in my eyes, all about the process and tools. This was evident in the”Objects and the Factory” exhibition by Kai Linke, Caroline Fesser and Thomas Schnur. But also at the fair there were some places where I could find process-like presentations and some tools. It’s a bit late to post images from imm in march, but I wanted to share them since it’s never too late.
The “Objects and the Factory” exhibition by Kai Linke, Caroline Fesser and Thomas Schnur.
Participants: Mark Braun, Reinhard Dienes, Karoline Fesser, Mathias Hahn, Kai Linke, Daniel Lorch, Sven Lützenkirchen, Torsten Neeland, Thomas Schnur, Elisa Strozyk Samuel Treindl
Samuel Treindl‘s work is containing the work of Thomas Schnur (the small side table on the picture before on the left).
The stool by Caroline Fesser is the archetypical factory stool but it’s made from wood, even the screw.
At the “Alle Metalle” exhibition that was curated by Sebatian Herkner. Unfortunately I only took this one shot of that bottle opener because I was to busy talking and it was dark anyways. Which you cannot see in this picture is the factory-like presentation with stacked palettes.
The outside of the ideal house by Louise Campbell is a real improvisation. The tiles look like color samples which designers do in their process.
The inside of the ideal house by Luise Campell is featuring a wall with tools and the iconic alfi-thermos can my grandmother was always using in her hotel. I was feeling at home in that moment.
The actual improvisation was our booth next to the d3 contest. Here is my own work (“Claude” lamp and “Improvisation Machine”) and the way its presented was developed together with Maike Langer within one afternoon.
The collection of accessories by E15 look like a “assemblage”, and they also neglect the normal way of presenting a product on a fair.
Oskar Zieta was also using a process and workshop presentation to show his new 3+ furniture system.
